"This campaign is not about building a
new facility. It is a strategic direction
- ASC, Redeemer, and Hamilton."

The Project

Soccer is the fastest growing sport in Canada. Registration of youth in soccer now significantly exceeds those in hockey in Canada (873,032 registered players in soccer across the country in 2008, with 558,117 registered in hockey). Passion for soccer extends to all communities, all groups and all ages.

For years Ancaster Soccer Club has provided quality soccer experiences for the youth of the Hamilton community. From just ten teams in 1985, ASC now has more than 2,450 youth playing in 125 house league and 26 competitive teams, as well as a number of adult teams. Our players are part of the 28,000 registered youth in Greater Hamilton who are passionate about soccer.

With the exponential growth of the sport in our community, there simply are not enough fields available to meet the demand. As well, a growing interest in availability of soccer programming year round cannot be met with existing facilities. To address this challenge, ASC has joined with Redeemer University College to build a new soccer complex that will increase accessibility to year round facilities for both communities.

Our $4.8 million campaign will renovate the existing Redeemer field and build a new 4-season international-sized field with a field house. The complex will allow for exponential and strategic growth in programming for both organizations, providing world class facilities that will attract more than 15,000 players and their families from across Hamilton and south western Ontario.

The key beneficiary of this new facility will be the youth in our Ancaster, Greater Hamilton and southern Ontario communities. This project is about building a world-class facility where our youth, and people of all ages, will profit from the many benefits soccer provides.
